When we talk about the Human Condition, we're talking about any issues pertaining to humans, our lives, our struggles, our nature, and how we function as a society.
How can Literature help us understand the Human Condition?
Literature can help us understand the Human Condition in a few different ways:
- Though "imagined" or "not real," fiction gives us insight into the human condition through the writers' use of tone, themes, setting, etc. to convey their attitude or feelings towards certain issues.
- Many times, poets get their inspiration through feelings and life experiences. Poetry teaches us creativity through the human mind.
